Make Sing Up Foundation your designated charity for concerts and other events

Making Sing Up Foundation your designated charity will help us to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people through singing

Every contribution, however big or small,
will help us continue our important work

We now know from research that singing has unique social and health benefits and is proven to be particularly effective for mental health and wellbeing. You could help transform young lives through song.

Below is a background to our work, and ways that you could support the Sing Up Foundation through fundraising concerts and other events. You can also download it as a PDF. And do feel free to get in touch with us at development@singupfoundation.org

Why is Sing Up Foundation's work so important?

The mental health of young people in the UK is of real and growing concern, with NHS England estimating that 1 in 5 young people aged 8-25 have a probable mental health condition, and the average waiting time for an appointment with Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services being 42 weeks. The more time these young people go without help, the greater their problems can become; mental ill health has long-term consequences on a young person's life chances, and it's critical to focus on positive prevention.

The benefits of singing on health and wellbeing are wide-ranging – from biological, to physiological, to social and psychological. We believe strongly that the arts, and singing specifically, can provide unique solutions. We work with a range of partners to develop opportunities for young people to improve their mental health and wellbeing through singing and we believe every child should have that chance.

Ways to support us as your designated charity

There are lots of ways to fundraise on behalf of your Sing Up Foundation as your designated charity, but the most common ways are through collections at concerts/events:

  • A single concert/event (e.g. a Christmas concert or a specific ‘fundraiser’ concert)

  • A concert/event series

  • Sing Up Foundation as an annual beneficiary charity for all concerts/events

  • Sing Up Foundation as an ongoing beneficiary charity for all concerts/events

You could collect funds through one or a mix of the following:

  • A percentage added to ticket prices – voluntary or compulsory

  • Collection buckets (including QR codes for digital payments)

  • Other related activities, e.g. auctions, cake sales

The mechanics

There are two options for collecting and processing funds, and they can be used together:

  • Through an online fundraising platform (we recommend Give As You Live).

  • Through your own platforms for receiving money, and you forward the funds to us directly.

And we can send you:

  • Branding materials

  • Information about Sing Up Foundation for your website, marketing materials, concert/event programmes, etc.

  • Collection bucket label template (including QR codes)

  • Donation flyer
