A basic summary of most mental health conditions likely to affect children & young people.

ANGER

A natural feeling, which becomes a problem when it gets out of control and harms you or people around you.

BIPOLAR DISORDER

A mental health condition that mainly affects your mood.

BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER (BPD)

A type of personality disorder pinked to difficulties with how you think and feel about yourself and other people.

DISSOCIATION AND DISSOCIATIVE DISORDERS

Feeling disconnected from yourself and the world around you, such as feeling detached from your body or feeling as though the world around you is unreal.

ANXIETY AND PANIC ATTACKS

Feelings of worry, tension or fear, which can become a mental health problem if it impacts on your ability to live your life as fully as you want to.

BODY DYSMORPHIC DISORDER (BDD)

An anxiety disorder related to body image, can include obsessive worries about physical appearance and compulsive and repetitive behaviours.

DEPRESSION

Depression is a low mood that lasts for a long time, and affects your everyday life.

EATING PROBLEMS

Any relationship with food that you find difficult, not necessarily related to being over- or under-weight.
